Yoko Ono's Wishing Tree

Yoko Ono is a Japanese artist and she is known for her art, music and filmmaking work. As part of her "Imagine Peace" projcet, her Wish Tree for Washington DC was installed into the Hirshhorn Museaum and Sculpture Garden. In 2010, a Wish Tree was installed at the Museaum of Modern Art. Paper was provided for the visitor to a tie a wish to the tree and this work builds on a Japanese tradition of tying prayers to trees, returning the paper back to it's original source.

This links in great with my project, as I had an idea to have other people tie their memories of me to a tree, to symbolise the 'tree of life' and how things can blossom and grow over time.
