Revealing the Plaster Mould - Video
After the plaster set inside the dental alginate face mould, I then had to remove the dental alginate so I turned the cast cover and the video explains how I revealed what was underneath. This is what we found:
I really couldn't believe how amazing the detail was that the plaster had taken from the dental alginate This proved to be a much better success than the ice mould and is definitely the best material that I have used so far in terms of picking up such fine detail. As I blocked the nostril holes in with clay before adding the liquid plaster, to stop it from running through, I had to drill out the nostril holes using a knife and I had to twist the knife in by and slowly carve away at the plaster to ensure that I got the nostrils exactly right.
