I have created a label installation piece using mesh chicken wire, placed on top of a standing board and I have tied different memories to it, in different formations, with some longer and others, so that I could experiment in different ways.
After looking at the wishing tree's etc, in my previous blog post, I thought I should produce an installation piece to add to my portfolio, before I create a real-life tree installation piece, which I have mentioned on more detail in previous posts.
So this is what I achieved:
Personally, I think this has worked extremely well and I love the way that it has turned out, as I wasn't sure how it turn out with never doing an installation piece like this before. I see it as being highly sentimental and meaningful, which was the whole point and links in fantastically with my project. I really do like this piece, as it links in a lot of different artists together.
I am currently producing an oil painting of myself, using a recent picture which was taken a few days ago and I am having an idea where I could create a C shape like board, which the back being the oil paint, the bottom being the support and the top being the place where I hang different labels/perspex sheets up, to link in with the different layers within my project and also the layering of memories. This could end up being my final piece, or one of my final piece designs.
