This time, I was doing this face mould so that I could then add plaster into it, to get another mould from this one.
These were my results of the dental alginate face mould:
I added mod-rock on the top of the dental alginate face mould to reinforce the dental alginate and hold the shape, ensuring that it didn't stretch. This worked as I expected, as you can see the face mould didn't stretch or change shape.
So I used dental alginate for the face mould and once that was set, I then added plaster of paris on top of it to act as an extra layer of support once i'd lifted it off the face. Once this was done, I left the plaster to set and I then carefully removed the mould from the model's face.
The mould worked amazingly, again! The detail was just incredible that it had picked up and I was over the moon with it.
The extra pieces at the bottom were just parts that were left over my the previous attempt with me, as I took the mould off as I was uncomfortable! After we did this, we then added plaster into the mould and my next blog post will show you what we did.
