I am currently looking for links to show how my final piece will link in with the rest of my project, in terms of having a fireplace placed outside. I know that I have looked artists that use trees and bushes and place objects onto the bushes/trees, however I am doing some research into which artists use indoor items and place them in an outside context.
I have found an artist that uses objects in an outdoor context in a similar way:
These benches look like they could also be used indoors, which links with my project as they have been placed outside, which I am planning on doing with the fireplace and other objects such as sherry, fish and chips (memories) etc.
At a recent light festival called the Lumiere I also found an interesting piece that links with my project in terms of the inside out effect of indoor objects being outdoors:
This piece kind of links into my project as flowers have been placed inside a car and sometimes flowers are inside, so this is an interesting piece. It was called The Green House Effect which also links in too, as the greenhouse is outdoors.
I have found this image which also links in as indoor lantens have been placed outside in the trees. This links with my project in many different ways as it links in with the trees and bushes, however it also links with indoor objects being placed outdoors.
I have also found this image which links great, as indoor lamp shades have been placed outside in the trees, weaving in and out which is interesting and again links great with my project.
This also links in with unusual objects being placed in different places that you wouldnt normally associate them with, like lamp shades in the woods and also a fireplace placed infront of a bush.
It also works in the opposite way in terms of putting outdoor objects in an indoor context and I was shown this image which links in well:
Here, this is an image of a bedroom and there has been graffiti put inside the room and this works inside out.
Other Work
I have found some work by Rene Magritte and he is a surrealism artist who also uses a fireplace within his work and he actually has a train coming out of a fireplace. This links to my project in terms of the fireplace:
I have also found another surrealism artist, Vladimir Kush, who uses trees within his work and it links to my project as there is a book which has been placed within the tree, sort of coming out of it and it links with a book of memories in a way:
If I was to do something link this, I would have a book with a lot of different memories within and have different images within it so people could flick through. His work: Vladimir Kush
