I have been considering the background for final piece and I have chosen to go for a cooler colour rather than a warm colour, so that my picture is shown clearly in the foreground of the picture and the emphasis is not taken away from the image by a dark colour.
I have done some trials with warm and colours to see which would look best and I have decided to definitely stick with a cool colour and I have chosen a light green as it will work well with the warm browns and creams, enabling the face to be seen clearly aganist the background. The purple and pink colours are too strong/warm and totally take away the emphasis of the picture and the warm of the colours within the face, which are reflecting the warmth of my different memories. I trialed the different colours using photoshop, by selecting the white parts of paper and using the paint bucket tool to change the colour of it.
