My Life Story

Ben Breedlove's Life Story

This is all about this life story and the challenges in which he has overcome, which is absolutely incredible and really inspirational. This has made me think that I could possbily use video art and tell my life story through the use of words, explaining sad and happy times and sort of 'peel back' my life and uncover different layers of my life.

This links in well with my tree charcoal drawing, as there are many different branches which could act as a levels, however the bark that makes up the tree could be the story of the tree and by peeling that back, you reveal what's underneath.

I could also go in the direction that people hide a lot on the outside, however there is lot's of things that other people don't know about them, which could be really interesting.

Everything that i've thought of so far links in really well with the idea of telling my life story as I will have the tree experiment where people write their memories of me, which adds a personal touch to everything and also brings in other people, rather than just me.

I would like to do something with photoshop where I peel back skins layers and reveal underneath. Also when I do my Sam Taylor Wood interpretation of me and my Mum, that will link in great with family life and show how others can lift you up and hold you high in life.

I have so many ideas!!! Can't wait to get them all started.

I love the layer idea. I could do a portrait of myself and scan it into photoshop and reveal different layers underneath and place things on top. I would obviously create an A4 sized version first, however during development, I could do a very large piece and then possibly have the projector overlapping the image of my and mum, video of me sleeping, video of me telling my life story like Ben Breedman does, baby videos and it all going very fast and have a clock ticking over the top and I could also end up going back in time from now and end the video with baby videos and my birth certificate etc.

I think that's a really nice idea to conclude all of my ideas in one piece of work and for it have such a deeper meaning will be my main goal, however it really will because only I will be able to relate to my life story and the sad and happy things that i've gone through throughout my life.
